Earring Making with Jessica Towns (Alutiiq/Sugpiaq)

Make earrings similar to those pictured above. (Students may make a slightly simpler version and will choose their own colors.)

The next Winter Series event will be an earring making class with Jessica Towns (Alutiiq/Sugpiaq).

Join Towns and make a pair of beaded earrings based on an ancestral pair from Ugashik in the Smithsonian Museum’s collection. 

Materials List

The class is free, but students need the following materials to participate. Please acquire these from your local bead shop or online before the class:

  • 2x 4mm closed jump rings 
  • 2x earhooks 
  • 1x hank of 11/0 Toho seed beads
  • 6x 10mm beads
  • 8x 6mm beads
  • 12x 4mm beads
  • No 11 Color Eyes Needles
  • Nymo D Thread
